Goodbye Distributism! Hello Benedict Option Communities!

Majority of Rad Trads are obsessed with the economic vision of GK Chesterton. Its called Distributism.

Distributism is basically a twisted view of how the world should operate, with everyone leaving the city and going back to the farm, to grow your own food and to stock pile weapons and hoard food - basically isolating yourself from modern society.

These farming fanatics will assure you that Distributism is neither:

Fascism
Communism
Capitalism

or any other ism...

It is neither right or left but somewhere in between.

This economic vision was to save the world.

Distributism was to start out locally by influencing the surrounding communities from the safety of your farm. You would only venture out from your farm compound to take part in local elections either by casting a ballot or running for office yourself. Once you've influenced the small community around you to your Distributism way of life, the next step was to influence the county and then the state, then the nation and finally the world!

It doesn't work.

Obvious....

Now enter a new way that will save the world!

Its called the BENEDICT OPTION!

What is the Benedict Option?

It is a view where layman mentally isolate and physically isolate (sort of...isolate....for example using the buddings when the uninitiated aren't around to bother your very small group) themselves from the post Vatican II church & modern society and live as monks in a community setting centering around a parish that offers a Latin Mass or two for your very exclusive club. The goal is to take over the parish and then take over the town and then take over the county and then take over the state and then take over the country & finally the world!

Will it work?

No.

Its another stupid idea, just like Distributism was and still is.

Who invented the Benedict Option?

A heretic!
