Several people were reported injured and missing after an explosion at German chemical company BASF's headquarters in Ludwigshafen. Flames and a cloud of smoke could be seen in a harbour area of the north of the town, where oil and gas tankers supply the plant. BASF said the explosion happened during work on a pipeline route for transporting raw chemicals to shipping. Residents were told to close their windows as the cloud of smoke spread. German Companies Race to Sign Up Migrant Workers
Migrants provide a rich seam of talent—but hiring them is far from easy
BERLIN—German companies are scrambling to connect almost 1 million immigrants with jobs—but the rich seam of fresh labor is throwing up manifold challenges.
The rush to recruit migrants is partly altruistic, borne of a concern for the wider society.
Assimilating the new arrivals quickly could prevent them from drifting toward radicalism, and reduce strain on Germany’s public services.
Yet there is also a clear benefit for German businesses blighted by an aging, overstretched workforce.
Germany’s adjusted unemployment rate dipped to 6.3% in November, its lowest level in almost 24 years. With so few people available to fill the gaps in the private sector, migrants provide an obvious opportunity.
Yet, while overall joblessness continues to fall, unemployment among working-age migrants from the Middle East and Africa hit 42.1% in September, according to Germany’s Federal Employment Agency, up 4.4% from a year earlier—highlighting the challenge authorities face.

Companies ranging from family shops to BASF SE, the world’s largest chemicals firm, have opened their doors to immigrants from Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and other countries. WSJ Read More>>>>>>>>

Lebanon: Muslims Set Fire To Refugee Camp

A fire tore through a camp for Syrian refugees in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley on Sunday, killing at least one person and leaving two in critical condition, the U.N. refugees' organization said. Flames and thick clouds of black smoke rose from the site near the town of Qab Elias, around a hour's drive east of Beirut, in footage broadcast by Lebanon's MTV, and at least one explosion was seen. Reuters TV footage showed the blaze had virtually razed the camp as a fire truck doused down the still-smoldering ground. A Syrian refugee said many of the people living at the camp had come to Lebanon from the Raqqa area of Syria. UNHCR spokeswoman Dana Sleiman said the camp had been home to 102 families. "We've started the assessment as to how many tents have been damaged. As soon as the assessment is done, we will provide the families with all the help they need," she said. "Apparently it started with a cooking stove. We are waiting to confirm that." Sleim…

Tattooed Freak Michael Slager Takes His Girl Out Behind The Gas Station & Sets Her On Fire Because He Luvs Her!

I Got Me Matches & Gas Lets Go Out Back & Have Some Fun....
A man accused of pouring gasoline on his fiancee and lighting her on fire says it was a 'horrible accident,' because he is in 'love with her.' Michael Slager, 40, allegedly set Judith Malinowski, 31, ablaze behind a Speedway gas station in Gahanna, Ohio, on Sunday, at 5.pm. Malinowski is in critical condition with life-threatening burns and was hospitalized at Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center. But Slager's attorney, Douglas Shaw, said that the entire incident was a mistake and Slager loves his fiancée and injured himself while putting out the fire. According to an eyewitness who called 911, the couple had been arguing before he lit the blaze in the Columbus suburb. The caller said the suspect then used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames.
