A sheriff's deputy was shot in the leg outside an Atlanta, Georgia, courthouse Friday morning, after a gunman wearing a gas mask tried to get inside the building. The deputy, who has not yet been identified, had confronted the gunman after he saw him approach the courthouse with an assault rifle and smoke grenade. The gunman, identified as Dennis Marx, was a self-proclaimed Sovereign Citizen with links to an anti-government group. He was shot dead as he approached Forsyth County court at 9am ET. Marx, who was spotted wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying weapons, had been due in court on Friday to face drug and weapons charges.
